During the ICOM Glass Meeting 2021, attended by all the leading glass scholars from around the world, I introduced the topic of Korean Śarīra glass bottles with a speech under the title "Śarīra glass bottles excavated from Buddhist Temples in Korea."

It was an honor to introduce Korea's glass culture in front of many prominent foreign scholars, but it was also challenging to attend the conference as the only Korean scholar.

I think that directly looking to the relics is fundamental, so I began to observe the Śarīra glass bottles collected in various museums and take pictures of the artefacts.

On the day of my presentation at the conference about 80 prominent glass scholars listened to my speech, and the feedback was quite good, indeed, they praised my work.

One day while I was working at the museum, suddenly something came out of my mind.

Should the subject of studies like archaeology, history, and art history concerns deep knowledge about the matter?
Real research about these matters are only the ones led by scholars?

Is there a way to promote Korean glass studies in the world?

Given that my major is glass along the Silk Road, a strong desire to divulge knowledge about glass has risen inside me.

A museum is not a place where exhibitions and educational activites are organized and carried on for the general public?
This question may have arisen in my mind because I planned and performed various educational programs for the citizens of Seoul.

All of a sudden, I remembered the "stained glass" workshop that a museum curator during lunchtime recommended me to try in my spare time, thus I applied for this workshop without hesitation, because I try to make samples of goods made of Korean sarira glass bottle.
